Cheers to creating more art in 2016!!

Happy New Year everyone!

2015 was a blast! I’m grateful to have been a part of so many awesome projects this past year! A special thanks to all my family and friends new and old that have supported me along the way ?

My 2016 is already off to a great start!

This month, I’m back on set for a feature that I started working on a couple of months ago (more details soon!). I’ve met so many amazing people and I couldn’t ask for a better set to work on.

I was recently cast as a lead in a student film at Capilano University called Blue Shadows. We started filming this past weekend and I had the opportunity to act out a scene inside this glider!

I also acted in a promo video for an Investment company this week and will be acting in a promo video for a new board game in a couple of weeks. I’ll share more details soon! : )

The Songwriter

Update January 16-2016: The film is now on IMDB! Below is a sneak peek of the poster :D

That’s a wrap on The Songwriter!

This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of working with director Beau Bridge the past few months (I recently worked on Making a Bed, Shirtless with Beau). He’s constantly challenging me as an actor. For this particular film, my musical talents were tested.

In the film, I play the lead character who is an aspiring singer/songwriter so I sing and play both the piano and guitar in the film. One of which Beau taught me to play 15 minutes before I was asked to perform on camera! I now have this intense urge to go out and buy a guitar…and perhaps start writing some songs!

This is the first time I’ve had to sing or perform on a instrument on camera so I’m excited to see the finished film!!

The Chorus

That’s a wrap on Dan Starling’s The Chorus! I performed alongside 11 other actors in this challenging and beautifully written piece. I can’t wait to see the final product! :)

Below is an exerpt from the Western Front website about the film.

“Vancouver-based artist Dan Starling’s will undertake a residency toward the development of a new video work that investigates ideas of democracy through the Chorus, a character in Ancient Greek drama of ‘the people’ that has been largely lost from contemporary popular forms of media. Starling’s work reconsiders the formal conventions of narratives, genres and aesthetics through deep research into social and political histories as well as contemporary society and popular beliefs.”20151214_191137.jpg

Making A Bed, Shirtless

Making a Bed, Shirtless PosterUpdate: The film’s poster is now on IMDB!

That’s a wrap! We wrapped filming of Making A Bed, Shirtless this past weekend. I was cast as the lead actress in this film :) The entire film is shot in one continuous take, so it was both fun and challenging as an actor!

Thanks to my fellow actors for all the hugs, the support and overall fun time on set and thanks to our awesome director for providing me this opportunity to really work my acting chops.
